Long story to short to see who is interested and I will post this on another forum also. Maybe I will also post this on teh bass board here and if any of you know anyone on the board that is interested let me know.
Here is the deal....I bought my starting battery from an on line company and they had some trouble with running out of that battery and it took them longer than it should have so I gave them what for.
They came back at me and offered a group discount if I wanted to see if others are interested in Optima Batteries. I make nothing off this and will get my discount next time with or without anyone else.
So what I have decided to do is see what interest there may be here and at another forum so please let me know who is interested and I will then go to the company to see what we have to do so everyone that wants in can get great batteries at a discount.

They are the ones that inside look like a 6 pack spiral wound 99% pure lead inside and the post will not corrode, but I don't have any solid info yet on prices and will check and get back once I see how may would be interested in setting up a group discount. They have offered this to me, but I don't have the low down and will need to do that after I see what kind of interest there is.
These are the batteries you can mount in most any position and have no access to add water or anything. The post are not screwed in like others and are part of the inside of the battery.
Hope you understand that and remember I stand to gain nothing from this. Just trying to help out where I can.

I have 3 of the OPTIMA 6-pack like gel cells...and I am very impressed with them... I will add another one or two as needed...however, just to confirm...They are very well made and hold charge very well.. Besides, they are smaller in size, yet much more long lasting power for the vibration they endured...

Will my MinnKota on-board chargers work with this type battery? Sure it is just like any other battery as far as how to charge it. Just the way it's made is different. Skip

I will need to check with them, but I don't think it's something we all have to do at the same time. These guys really made me mad and I gave them one big load of my thoughts. They came back to me after they finally shipped them and promised me a discount next time and since I know lots of boaters on the boards they offered a group discount for everyone. At least that was my understanding and I think we can all benefit.
They have already promised me a discount next time and they then ask or offered a discount that would be like a group type thing.
I will try to call and talk with them early next week after this weekend.

let me know if the price is right, i will take 2 if they are the rechargeable trolling type elkhartdom at yahoo when you find out I can't speak for them, but I am thinking it will be for any kind of Optima which are all rechargeable. They have starting batteries that are also Deep Cycle enough to help keep your electronics running and then they have the Deep Cycle that are for Trolling Motors and such. SO I think it would be any kind someone wanted. The Trolling Motor kind do cost more than starting batteries, but if we get enough people it may be worth being part of the group and get them at a good price. I know they are not going to give them away, but even the TM type batteries without discount are about $25 less than Cabela's so the lower we can get them the better. However knowing how good these are I still know they will cost more than the one you have to replace in two years. No one here is asking for any commitment to buy, but just to see how many of us are interested and I really doubt that we would all have to buy them at the same time, just be part of the group so we can get a discount for buying in a group be still separate.
