Hey guys. Was going to make the trip to Texoma tomorrow but don't think we will be able to make it out there early enough to get bait so thought I would try Lake Lewisville, for the first time. Yep, that's right, never fished there before. Always stayed clear because of the rep as a party lake but after seeing some of the reports I gotta try it. Not looking for anyones honey hole as I have a good graph but can anyone offer some suggestions on where to start looking this time of year, general areas? Also, are lures working well or do I need to find shad. We will be in a blue & white Promaster center console. If you see us stop & say hi. Thanks.

Where will you launch? If on the east side of the lake, I'd start at the 121 cut...Usually they stack up on the lake side of the cut, but I've caught them on both sides. I haven't been out in over a week, but at that time, both live bait and slabs were working..

121 cut area, Lake Park area & the hump in front of the old dam cut are the places I would start looking. I haven't looked at the weather report yet so I don't know what direction that will be blowing. But what ever point the wind is blowing into or across will be a good place to start as well.

Thanks guys. I just read Lakeguide's report on Hubbard. Hmmm, Lewisville or Hubbard? it's nice to have choices.

I was thinking about going out with 4 newbies tomorrow morning. After all this rain (4.7") since yesterday, what are the chances the fishing will be good tomorrow?

All the spots mentioned above are good, but just listening and watching for the birds is your best bet. There are areas fish tend to always be, but if you can find the birds, you will find the fish. The Ticket is having their Summer Bash party all day on Friday. Stear clear of Sneaky Pete's, unless of course you get a little tired of fishing and want to watch the belly flop contest, or the wet t-shirt contest.

Miguel,
I was wondering the same about the rain but going to give it a try regardless unless it is raining like it is now. What kind of boat are you going to be in?

Gibby,
Wet t-shirt contest sounds pretty good!

I have a blue and white fishmaster center console. If I don't make it out, let me know how you did.
