So this happened about a year agao. It probably wouldnt have had been so bad if the bass that I was trying to unhook the lure from was still on the bottom hook squirming around and flopping everywhere with my fingure hooked on to it. So glad that it didnt come out through again. Im more careful about my lures and hooks and how I handle a fish ever since this incident.

man- put a graphic content warning on the thread

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

That happened to a friend of mine as we were fishing last year. He went to take the fish off the hook and the fish started flopping around..next thing we know he has a hook stuck in his forearm. Long story short, the inside of your skin is alot harder to penetrate than the outside of your skin. Sure seemed that way as we tried to push the hook straight through.

Two guys I know were fishing in a T up in CT.. small 15 foot boat. The guy in the front was casting a spook and on the back cast he snagged the guy in the back of the boat in the neck.. screamed like a little girl.. but to his credit, he fished the last couple hours of the Tournament and a paremedic ( another guy in the T ) took it out for him... made me cringe when I saw it..

It used to happen all the time, but i use some stuff on my line now and it takes the memory out of it. It doesnt tangle like that anymore.

Oh wait your talking about the hook..ya got one in the top of the head, took some stitches to close it up after they cut it out at the E-room.

I had worse in my eye and didn't even blink... just kidding!!! Just push them kind through and cut the barb off or pinch the bard down with plyers and pull it back through.
Stumpjumper14's buddy had a crankbait stuck in his thumb and a channel cat wiggling around on the other hook a couple of weeks ago... I could hear him hollerin across the lake. I thought they caught the lake record or something, come to find out he was just being a big ol crybaby. HAHA
