Went out on Palestine today with the wife and my 6 year old son. My wife does'nt fish, but since it was the free fishing day, she decided to try it out. Caught some big gizzard shad, and moved out to a spot off the 155 bridge, and put on a big shad, and before I got it in the rod holder...Bam!! Fish on. I handed the pole to my wife, and now she understands. She finally pulled in a 6 pounder.

I hookup another shad, and again, before I put it in the rod holder, another. I let Luke have the rod, and he landed a 5 pounder. Luke quickly caught another 5 pounder with a bucktail jig with a fluke, and my wife caught a couple more, one was over 8 pounds.

I finally caught one myself, when we finally got down to the last shad, and it went 7.5 pounds. All this in a span of about 45 minutes. We could have caught many more if we had more bait. Lake was pretty rough today, and it made catching bait a little tough. Live bait was definatly the key today. Will post a pic a little later.

Park,
I was the guide that day. I did catch the last one, that went over 7 LBS. She went out only because it was free fishing day. But I tell you she had a great time. I think I might take out Josh today around 4:00 if ists not too windy. I think that the bite is in the afternoon. Not hearing much about the morning bite.

Went out today around 4:30 pm and fished till 8:00. Did'nt catch any hybrids. Came across some sandbass schooling on the way back, and decided to catch a few. But it was not what we were after.
