I am wanting to try a different set-up than I currently have. I would like suggestions on what type of method feeders I should get and swivel sizes as well, in order to fish with a bolt rig style. I am very unfamiliar with this type of tackle and have just been using the resistance tackle method feeders. But I am finding these to be a bit shoddy and I want to fish with a bolt rig set-up instead of a free running style. Also, is there something I can use for my hook length to keep from tangling. I have scoured BCT, but I just am not sure what I should be looking for. Thanks.

I've only used the RT feeders also. I had to use cable ties (as the website suggests) to hold them together, but I never got the feeling that they were well designed or built.

I have only used the feeders that Andy sells at thebaitstop.com. Having recently lost all my feeders to the rocks at Grapevine, I ordered some more from BCT the other day. I ordered the Korda ones as I have several packets of Korda #8 swivels and it says on the package that they are made for Korda gear of all kind, including their method feeders. So if you buy Korda feeders and some of their #8 swivels, you'll know they match. Only bad thing is the Korda feeders were pretty expensive.

Like Jesse said, you may not have any trouble with tangles, but if you do, buy some rig tubing (make sure it has a big enough bore to pass your line through) and use a strand at least as long as your hooklength above the feeder. It should fit fairly securely into the tail rubber at the top of the feeder.

My tangles are few and far between, and it is usually just the hook snagged in the feeder. I am using 30lb power pro braid and my hook length is a maximum of 5 inches.

I like the ProLogic method leads "BCT."
Or better still I get Duncan to mold me some with his super method lead mold.

Scorpion Tackle also sell the same method leads, these cast like a dream!

I like the method leads sold by Resistance and Bait Stop. I haven't tried any other method leads. I also have a distance method feeder from Bait Stop but haven't used it yet.
I echo the use of the tubing to avoid tangles.

I need to try some good anti-tangle tubing. I bought a starter kit with a bunch of carp rigs and bits a couple years ago, but I've been disappointed with much of it, including the tubing.

Brett, use leadcore! Cheaper and much easier.

I've tried that, too, but the leadcore it wouldn't slide through the tail rubber in event of the main line breaking--with my gear, it was essentially a death rig, so I gave it up.

Brett, If you splice the lead core it should easily go through the tail rubber. If it didn't you couldn't put the feeder on the lead core.

If your ever at one of the fishin's I'll show you how to do it.

I spliced the leadcore, but the tail rubber was too tight. Maybe I bought some wide-diameter leadcore?
