The crappie are full of eggs and staging for the spawn on Grapevine. I have made 4 trips out this week and had a decent catch each time. I have been fishing in 15 feet of water near stumps and brush and fishing a couple of feet off of the bottom. I have been using 2 hook crappie rigs with live minnows. Be sure to buy at least 4 dozen minnows for 4 or 5 hours of fishing. You end up throwing back a lot of smaller fish and going through minnows quickly.

Nice report! Yeah, we have been finding a bunch of fish on DeVine that are still full of eggs. Guy said this was worrying him that there wasn't a good spawn on Grapevine and most of those fish are going to reabsorb their eggs. We are finding them as shallow as 6 feet still at DeVine.

So have they just totally missed the spawn Stucky? I just thought that it was delayed due to rain, but NoChanceForWin told me this morning that they won't spawn now that the water is so warm.

Pretty much man. If they haven't spawned out over the recent full moon their not going to. Better be a better spawn next year.

Nice haul! All the ones that I caught at the vine on Saturday didn't have any eggs.
