Let me tell you what its doing and then i will tell you what i have figured out so far.


2008 90hp optimax.
the boat has no power it normally runs at 5700rpm @ 48 mph.
now it will not get on plane and will run at a max of 4100rpm (rev limiter comes on at 4100) but you can only get to this if the lake is dead calm and it finally gets on plane. will run @ 2800 rpm right now 12 mph.

It went from running perfect on a Fiday to running like this on a Sunday, over the course of a week i ran it on dog ears and checked the plugs, the top 2 plugs look good, the bottom plug is still looking brand new but is always wet when i pull it like it has no fire to it. I changed the plug cables and still the same thing, i even disconnected the bottom plug and it runs the same, making me think the bottom plug has no fire going to it.

All filters,bowls etc have been checked as well as fuses, unless there is a fuse somewhere i dont know about.

Any suggestions?

Well more than likly the #3 coil is dead Need to take it to a Merc dealer and have them run a diagnostic test cause Iam sure it is still under warranty.Be more than happy to get you fixed up if you want to bring it to north fort worth...OPTI
