How much hydrilla is on Bob Sandlin? I just received a treatment proposal for about 8 acres, and am not familiar with the lake. Anyone have any insight?

I probably shouldnt post, as I havent been there in a month, but it can get VERY healthy out there at times. It will choke out some coves here pretty soon if it continues to grow at the levels I saw in March/April.

there is grass in the lake but its not bad at all i havent seen it matted yet. The drought we had a few years ago did somehting to the soil to help it come back in places it hasnt been in years it seems. I grew up on that lake just send them a message and say Dillon Lee said no. If you dont want grass and nice clear water and plenty of oxygen he said move to cypress. We can insure your house over there too LOL just kidding. The grass is just getiing good out there again after years of it being thiner than when i was a kid. let it grow for a few years just my 2 cents. The water dist at sandlin is good about not killing it off from what i have seen. They just stocked another round of florida strain bass in there TODAY i think they let them go in grass beds around the lake . We need our grass for a couple of years to get really thick. They stocked 2 years ago and again today. The little ones nee that grass

I'm with Dillon. Let the grass grow.
Fire ants bother me much more than hydrilla.

I just received a treatment proposal for about 8 acres, Just go sray weed killer in their yard instead and see how they like that. Tell them that brown dirt underneath is what the water will look like if the grass is gone. Go West of 21, then E of the RR bridge. The water color is night and day because of the grass.

I was there last week & didn't see 8 acres of grass - especially any that would be causing trouble.
They need to go spray somewhere else. IMO

Under 21 was nothing like it used to be! All that good looking blue water...not there.

Can you please provide directions (GPS coordinates) to this 8 acres of grass? Preferably by tonight? I haven't seen a solid hydrilla field on the lake and I was all over it last weekend. There was some healty isolated patches but nothing like it use to be out there.

Your right, there is no solid areas. I haven't even found as much as last year in some places. There are new places that are thick, but they will not be problematic. I'm assuming they are saying 8 acres total for the whole lake.

It had disappeared in alot of places a couple of years ago. Where are you treating the 8 acres?

Let the weeds grow. We don't need another Cypress Springs. There is little enough good grass on Sandlin. Most of us have trouble finding it so it's surely not any sort of hazard or nuisance.
