I'm wondering if it's possible to rent an offshore boat for a day - something in the neighborhood of 28' or so. I know theres loads of charter operators out there, but I'd like to arrange a couple days of offshore fishing with just myself & family. My little boat - while she is wonderful and I would never say anything negative about her! - is just not big enough to range out to say, the double yellow rigs from Port Aransas & hang out overnight.

Anyone?

The only rentals I am a aware of are www.littlebaymarine.com which rent various size boats such as a 22' Mowdy for around 300 a day plus gas, they have others as well. No one else rents large boats that I know of, check www.rockport-fulton.org for more info

Yeah, I ran across the little bay site already. My boat is an 18.5' center console & can hold her own offshore to about 20 miles, but I was hoping to do something involving tying up overnight at an oil rig in some DEEP water ...

wow, now that DOES sound like fun, Zach.

We're headed to Galveston later in June, and I've been debating whether or not to take my boat down there to do some bay fishin.

I'm also thinking about renting a canoe or 2 man kayak for me and the boy to do some bay fishing in. Still undecided.

Good luck in the rentaboat search.
