I've got a new Lowrance 520c and I love it, but I keep getting lots of water spots and smears on it. It makes it a lot tougher to read in bright sunlight. Any suggestions on cleaning the screen? Don't want to put the wrong stuff on it.
Thanks!
EW

Equal parts of distilled vinegar, isopropal (sp) alcohol and distilled water. Works excellent and does not streak.

Vinagar windex is what I use on my 997. I alos keep a bottle of electronic wipes and a dry towel in the boat. You can get them at Walmart in the TV section. about 3 bucks.

Damp towel with water from the lake and dry it with the other end of the towel.
Put the plug in.

I wear glasses so I keep a small eyeglass cleaner kit in the boat ($3 at wallyworld). The kit has small multi tip screwdriver, spray cleaner and one of those silky towels in it. Turns out that the cleaner and towel work great for cleaning the screen on my 1197.

The auto screen cleaner wiper works great on my unit. I especially like the remote control. The bottle unit has to be filled about every 5th trip. When that happens, I just buy a new unit.

If you can tilt the screen especially, bottled water will dissolve the water spot, light finger rub to get fresh water to the deposit and a rinse will carry it away.
Wonder if starting a clean screen then applying that windshield water repellant stuff (rain sheield??) would minimize the deposits.

I put a protective shield on mine when they are new and then you can just rub dirt on it...
