Yea the bite was on, but the slot ended up kicking my butt yesterday. You had to be around the overs. I spent the entire morning playing with slot fish in hopes of catching a couple of overs, but it never happened. Had 7 or 8 heartbreakers between 17-18" by 8am and lost count after that. It is fun, but it gets you nowhere in a tournament. I ended up weighing a "bag" of 5 unders, disapointed. It is a fun day though in retrospect when you catch more slots than unders!!

We were really weak out there. Caught fish all day but just not the right ones. Had 3 different patterns going but they all spit out the same size of fish. We bailed on one pattern that I think could have maybe produced a few overs but the last thing we wanted to try was a huge investment of time and the pay off ended up being more slot fish.
Didn't lose any giants or even any sure thing overs (had one I would have liked to put on the board but it wouldn't have made any big difference). So, caught fish from 6in of water to 33ft deep, culling by 7:15, almost everything we hooked came in, had around 40 fish in the boat with best five going around 15lbs but weighed in 4.21
Really disappointing results after all the work we put in.

The only true intercontinental champion.

Great sacks on Saturday and especially Sunday considering it was an individual tournament. Congrats to Jerry Mooney for a nice weekend on the Vine.Grapevine was a whip for me.I only fished it once prior to the tournament, so I got out of it what I put in, so I was not suprised by my very small limit of unders which I struggled to catch.I pre-fished once and had a couple of spots that had potential but on Sunday I caught 6 fish in the slot and 6 unders.I did not have the bite that alot of guys had on numbers.

We did pretty good out there today. All unders and slot fish but that's ok when you are just fun fishing.

Wish they could all be like last weekend. If it were not for all the uncourteous other boaters and weekend anglers it would have been great.

And bank fishermen.. you might as well leave the east bank of Twin Coves area by 7:30am as they are about two deep. Its public water and they have every right to it as long as they have a fishing license, but its still frustrating when they are trashing the water you are trying to fish like they are in competition with you.

There are alot of banks that are not as productive as they used to be, simple because of the bank pressure. Yesterday on the right hand bank coming out of Scotts, it looked like a circus. Cast nets being thrown, 50 surf rods put out, people saining the bank.....it was crazy!!

I swear that is because so many people of the hispanic community other than roofers are out of work so the fish and i bet mostly for food. it has gotten crazy out there
