well after having a so so day thrus. with 10 cats and 30 sandies.....(which we wouldnt have caught with out a hot tip from Johnny) Thanks old man! ...I was wondering what to do for sat. trip ....being able to catch multi species fish is a blessing and a curse...one choice could make you or break you....with the sandies going into summer pattern and calm winds makes my shallow catfishing hard .....I went with sandies first....started out at 6:30 am on the ridge south of the island....we found fish right off the bat and had a limit for three by 7:30 am.... all fish were caught on "old ugly" in 20 to 16 ft of water.....fished until 10:30 with about 150 to 200 fish caught ...I only kept up with the ones in the box...but we were being picky keeping the bigger ones......got to get out early and beat the heat this time of the year....

I had a great time fishing with Saturday...Came home and put them in some hot grease with some Sweet potato fries...!!!! Brother Terry put us right on fish and he is a class act.

Yeah BT, had a blast out there Sat am. Was glad to finally meet and fish with ya to see if you was a big of wierdo and as sandjohnny makes you out to be. . Bout gave me a heart attack 3 times near the island while catfishing. Get to chatting with my pops and I hear ya say JIMMY! JIMMY! JIMMY!. I panic and go for the rod thinking it was about to be pulled in the water, just to hear ya laugh and say hahahaha gotcha. . Cant believe you got me 3 times. I learned a good deal about the lake and what to look for. As soon as I get my trailor fixed I will put my lessons to the test. Thanks for the advice and thanks for putting up with us.....

I know what you mean SandJohnny! There was a couple of times I caught him humming Britney Spears songs while he was waiting for a bite. Thought that was wierd . But when he ask me to take his fish off of his hook and.... Never mind I will leave it at that.

On the serious side he's a hell of a guide and a real freindly guy, if you lurkers out there want to get on this action and learn some techniques, he's your man. We had a blast.

Only thing I was disappointed in, I did not get the Brother Terry edition elvis glasses as a souviner.

Yeah we were the first ones there and within minutes of us catching they started coming in. There were 1 or 2 knucleheads but the gentlemen we were talking to in one of the other boats kept a good distance and were real good about not banging boats. Hell didnt really know they were there most of the time. Plenty of fishies...

What kinda lure is "old ugly"? I have fished this lake many times but without much luck. I have found plenty of small fish but never many keepers.

OlUgly is a slab made by Mr.SandJohnny. I have caught fish with them every time I used them. Some guides use them as well. He also makes a fly that can be used to tie above the slab for doubles. We used this method last week with Brother Terry and it put a limit in the boat in a hour or less. I wonder what 3 flies would do, for triples . Hmmm, that would be a good fight. By the way SJ, if you see this, I am going out tonight possibly for a test run in my boat. I think I finally got the kinks worked out. Hows the afternoon bite. Got the elctronics working... I gues the usuall spots? Doing the usual method?

I was out this morning and in an 2 hrs me and Gregg caught 58.I have not fished in the afternoon since saturday. We caught fish in the afternoon.We caught them this morning on a hump 23 to 25ft.
