I want to know the answer to this question

Why is it when you are fishing from the shore line you throw out as far as you can, But when you are in a boat you throw towards the shore line? Now dose that make sense.

You are covering the same area, just in reverse.

Sometimes when I fish from the bank I cast down the shore line and work the bank that way. This is also done sometimes from a boat when working spinerbait, crankbaits, down shores or dams. But I believe ezbassin is right. You're covering the same area in reverse.

less hang ups retrieving down hill might be the answer you are looking for but keep in mind a cast parallel to the bank could keep your presentation in a particular depth range much longer. wink
