I took my wife fishin with me this wknd at fork, and the first fish on sat came while she was complaining that we werent getting any bites. She was looking at me and not paying attention draggin a white chatterbait behind the boat and nailed a 4-14. Never fails.......Sunday afternoon took grandma out for a quick tour. Stopped at my favorite ridge (that i had fished for two days with little to no luck) and handed her a curado/falcon combo with a brush hog. Second cast she looks at me all crazy and says she thinks she has one.....yep, 5 lb hawg. Thank god I whacked a 5-9 right before we left or I would have never heard the end of it. Same thing happened at Ray Bob a couple weeks ago. I swear I am going to just start draggin stuff behind the boat and read a magazine while trolling around the lake oblivios to anything.

My wife picks up her pole and proceeds to toss a white and silver rattletrap right up to the tree line into about 1 foot of water. After here second cast, she turns to me and asks, "Is this lure supposed to be for shallow water or deep water?" As I began to tell her that I thought it was better for deeper water, she latches onto what turns out be the first of 3, yes 3...15"+ crappie in about 10 minutes. What could I say after that?
Then to make thing worse on my confidence as a fisherman, took my wife, daughter and niece to a pond on my parents property this past Sunday afternoon. Nothing seemed to be biting for the first 30 minutes or so, so I tied on a white/redhead feather jig and set it about 18" deep with a cork for my niece. A few minutes she hooks something and it snaps her line right at the pier. So she says "I need another jig so I can catch that fish again and get my first jig back." I explained to her that that particular fish would not likely bite again for a while. Not 5 minutes later, she catches a 2lb. bass with, you guessed it...that stupid white/redheaded jig and a foot of line hanging out of it's mouth...
So, should I sell all my fishing stuff and take up golf?

This is the power of attraction at work. Your wife believed she was going to catch the fish that got her lure and therefore she did. I take trips out all the time when there is one guy or girl who either can't catch a fish or catches all of the fish. It is all about having confidence in what your doing. You have to believe that you are going to catch fish in the location and equiptment that your using. If you start the day thinking that the current conditions are going to make it tough, then you have brought a tough day of fishing on your self.

Good Luck to All,
Brian

Only when you are fishing with your sweetie and you want to impress her with your fishing prowess. Then the fish shun your presentations and flock to the ladies. The same thing happens when trying to teach a woman how to play poker. She ends up with your wallet, your shirt, pants, and shoes and you drive home in your underwear. Women are diabolical. The more a man tries to prove his superiority the worse he looks. And poor sweet innocent looking little missy acts like she don't know a cotton pickin thing!!!!!!!

This just might be true sometimes. I do catch my fair amount of fish when I go out. And, 2 weeks ago I put $1,500 in my online poker account and as of last night my balance is almost $10,000. Hummmmm... guess there might be something to this story after all. Not always, but sometimes. thumb

If only women could take menopause and use it on the fish. They would swim to the boat without a hook. My dog still has flashbacks/tremors from her menopause.
