My friend has a Johnson 115 and I have to pump the gas bubble while he is driving for it to run properly. If it is not pumped it cuts in and out. Recently the alarm started going off indicating low oil, but there is oil in it. We weren't sure if the problems are related or how to solve them, any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Possibly a fuel pump. If it has the VRO pump, the alarm may go off because it's not getting enough oil.

Why are you posting this in every section? You already got answers in the motor section.

Not everyone reads the boats and motors section. Nathan, a little bit of common sense goes a long way. Hope this answers your question FORKER. Later

Well, I could post a bass fishing question in every forum and get more replies as well. BUT, it doesnt BELONG there. Your question was already answered in the motors section. Why do you need someone in every section to tell you to replace the fuel pump? A bit slow maybe? Nothing to be ashamed of.

Loc: Lake Fork, TX Having popped a hole in the bottom of my last boat, Id hate to think what it would do to a person.

For your sake, sell the boat you have now and fish off the bank or GET TO KNOW THE LAKE BETTER. Nothing to be ashamed of though.

Make sure the fuel tank is vented. Try opening the fuel tank lid to see what happens. Usually the only two things that cause the horn to go off is low oil or overheat. As far as I know, the engine doesn't have a way to know if it is getting oil or not. My buddies dad's boat horn went off last week. It had oil, but turned out the low oil level sensor was bad. We disconnected it and the buzzer went off so he got another oil tank and it took care of it.

You could do away with the oil tank and just mix the gas. Sure you don't have a hole somewhere in your fuel line letting it lose pressure. Was told that about 4sec without oil will destroy an engine. That would scare me bad.
