My friend has a Johnson 115 and I have to pump the gas bubble while he is driving for it to run properly. If it is not pumped it cuts in and out. Recently the alarm started going off indicating low oil, but there is oil in it. We weren't sure if the problems are related or how to solve them, any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Have you tried changing the bulb? Make sure gas line is not cracked, check gas filter.

When I had a Johnson and that happened to me it was the VRO pump that went out. Don't run it because if that is the case it is not getting any oil.

Terry is right it's probably the vro which pumps not only fuel but oil to the engine. Do not run it!! On some years it's best to just disconnect the oil side and mix the oil in your fuel tank. Post this on the boat and motor section and you will get a much better answer.

All the above are right on. I suggest changing bulb every 2 years. Some of these Walmart ones will only last one season. Check the lines and filter for replacement too. Cheap enough. How old is motor? Pump is has a very good possibility of going out. Easy enough to pre-mix as a added security measure once motor and pump get up in age.
