Depends on which product you prefer but I use the Sta-Bil ethanol and the QuicKleen. Some guys prefer the Seafoam. In a recent edition of Bass Times it said that the 89 octane gas burned cooler and slower due to it having less additives than the other grades. The best tip I got was to only buy enough fuel that will be used on that day.It is a pain to always gas up before you go but if you experience ethanol related issues then it seems less taxing.I had the lining of my fuel line collapse off and on due to ethanol damage on my 06 Mercury and it was in and out of the shop before OPTI the Merc guru at North Texas Marine found the problem and its been great since but I am much more attentive to what kind of fuel and what I add to it.It is crazy that we add a product to our fuel(ethanol) that absorbs water but that is a discussion for the OT.There is a place in Weatherford who sells ethanol free gas and I am going to start gassing up there whenever possible.

JUST TRYING TO AVOID ANY PROBLEMS BEFORE THEY DEVELOPE. I USE QUICKCLEEN EVERY OTHER FILL UP, BUT I DIDN'T KNOW IF IT HELPED AGAINST THE ETHANOL OR NOT

Mercury also has the Dri-Fuel and Marine Fuel System Treatment & Stabilizer. The QuickCleen will not aid very much in regards to ethanol. But you should use the QuickCleen every fill up if possible in conjuction with a fuel treatment for stabilization if you plan on storing it for long.

I don't know if it is recommend, but I have started adding STP just because I can always get it at the gas station. It has helped noticably. My opti doesn't like this new fuel at all.

I am a believer in Sea Foam! Between that and the 10 micron filter the new boat I bought has on it I should be good.
