I tried it today...was my first time on the lake (other than a guided trip by Jackieblue earlier in May.)

On the water about 7:30, off the water about 1:00.

The bite was early, nothing after 11:00. Caught 8 reds from 20 to 22" and 1 small gar. Tried a little fly fishing for the famous Fairfield copper nose BG after the reds shut down, but no luck there. I need more experience on where to fish...and plan to get it.

Hey Meadowlark, how full is the lake? Are you able to use both ramps?
Thanks!

Ladie at the park office said the lake was 4 foot low, only
using the second ramp...

Yes, I used the north ramp and didn't have any problems...the other ramp, the first or south ramp, is virtually useless.

Good luck and post your results, please.

Absolutely SMOKED them last Thursday morning. Saw
Jackieblue with some customers, looked like they
did well also. Boated 50 reds, kept a 2 man limit
with the largest going 30.5 inches/10 lbs, 13 ounces.
We kept four other 26-27 inchers and one 21 inch fish.
Released a ton of 18-20 inch fish, should be good ones
next year. This was my first trip since 2007, spots and
methods where dead on, some things don't change much.
My buddy had never caught a red before, I believe he is
now ruined forever...

we fished last sunday through tuesday and caught 20 reds. My wife caught the largest at 39". Did not have scales no idea what it weighed. We caught several in the 30" range. All were trolling deep divers in 18 to 24ft. Most came in the heat of the day noon till 5:00pm. Had to move them fast to get strikes. It was hot but a good trip. We have a 22ft pontoon. The north ramp is about it as meadowlark said. It is pretty funny looking launching a pontoon almost cocked sideways because of the messed up bottom!

I only have a 16 foot Crestliner, no problems. The
guy that launched before had a large & long center
console, no problem either. Just stay in the center
of the ramp and be careful...

That day we targeted wind blown points, 10-14 foot
of water using bait shrimp & wally world worms...

Nice, haul.

Trolling in straight lines?

Caught my few on Frozen shad.

Was in the water at 3:00am to practice my cast net without getting laughed at. smile

YES Aim for the left of center if your facing the ramp...
