Went to lake Fork this weekend and caught some nice sized crappie. Friday afternoon I caught fifteen crappie, a bar fish and two catfish. I also had a five pound bass get in my way.

Saturday morning I caught twelve crappie, a bar fish, and one catfish.

Saturday afternoon I went back out and finished my limit in 3 hours with thirteen crappie one being close to 3 pounds. Ten of these fish were thirteen inches or better.

Sunday morning i went back out and caught nine nice crappie and two bass.

Sunday after noon went back out and caught eleven more and gave them to a elderly couple who didn't have to good of a day fishing. They were happy to go home with some fish. Fork has been pretty good giving up some nice slabs the last month.

very nice HUGE fork crappie

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

I don't mind not catching limits when you got some solid fish like that! Congrats!

TM487VS Most of the crappie were caught in standing timber in 18 to 24 feet, fishing fourteen feet deep. I could have caught more fish at the bridges, but I think you'll catch larger fish in the trees or brush piles. Talked to alot of folks fishing bridges and they had more fish than I , but they didn't have the quality fish that I did. If you don't know much about Fork, start at the bridges and catch a few, then head out to some points in 20 foot of water. Fish some trees and look for brush on your deep finder. Get out there, the fishins really good right now.

Hardluck37, Wish I could have seen your son catch that big bass, he'll remember that the rest of his life. Thats the kicker about Fork-you never know when you'll hook a big bass. I lost a big one this weekend trying to net it myself. Was fishin with a eight foot rod and had a short handle net. If I would have had someone with me, I might have got him in the boat.

Hey fellas. I was at Fork this past saturday also. The crappie were bitibg real good in the timber. I got my limt with some nice slabs coming out of the timber. I fished the bridge and noticed that the smaller ones seemed to be more concentrated there, but I still managed to catch a few slabs there also. Just had to fight thru the smaller ones but they are there and they were hitting fast!

You can't catch em if your hook aint wet.
