I have been fishing there several times and for the first time noticed all of the concrete area on the Northwest corner of Pelican island.
I was curious if anyone knows what that used to be?
Thanks Randy

Runway for small airfield. It's on a Lake Products map.

I guess it really dosn't matter was just curious if anyone knew.
I can see the runway on my map it is in the lake. If my map is accurate it looks to be 20 ft or more below what I noticed and several hundred feet away. I guess maybe a building foundation for something that was at the airport.

Yeah I think there were probably several buildings in the area at one time.

If you will follow that shoreline of Pelican Island heading south, real close to the old runway, you will find a deep cut off of that point. The point runs well out into the lake. I have caught many a nice bass off that ledge where the point drops into the cut. It is a deep cut, perhaps 18 ft. where the ledge is at 2 ft. or less on top. I would drag a C-Rigged watermelon seed, chartreuse dipped tail off that ledge and they would nail it on the fall. The only other place on that entire lake that I have caught bass is off of a concrete structure in front of "Fisherman's Point" I believe. It is near the south end of the lake. I tried hard to learn that lake one year and finally gave up on it. Too much pressure on it maybe. Beats me?
