As far as fishing, how does 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 oz buzzbaits differ? Cast farther with 1/2oz, can reel a 1/4 oz slower?

I think the diff. is the overall size of the buzzbait, bigger the weight the bigger the profile.

some lighter buzzer actually require a faster retrieve because the blades are smaller.
I use a 1/2 oz lunker lure almost everytime I throw a buzzbait.

1/2. I think what should dictate the size is speed and how much noise you want. If you want a slow bait, use a 3/8 with a big blade. If you want faster, use a small 1/4 or a bigger 1/2, especially a big one with a smaller blade. Personally, I've always had more luck on big, nasty looking baits.

I'm curious. What do you guys call a "buzzbait?" I call a spinner bait a buzzbait. What I mean by "spinnerbait" is a large jig with head and skirt with at least one spinner blade on the other leg of the wire. I know some guys who call a bait with propellers a buzzbait. What your opinion?

Buzzbait: Spinnerbait: There are 3 sizes of Delta style buzzbait blades, see the link to Barlow's for a good comparison chart and applications. http://www.barlowstackle.com/acb/showdet...91&CATID=55Because of the smaller blade size on a 1/4oz it's surprisingly effecient to throw even in wind. It's a great size for a slower, more subtle presentation. 3/8oz is our most popular selling size and is good for most situations and moderate retreive speeds. 1/2oz uses the same size blade size as 3/8oz and is used for windy situations and/or faster retreives.

Just curious as well, are propped topwater baits considered buzzbaits as well? I have always thought so.

I prefer the 1/2 oz War Eagle Buzzbaits.
The skirts are hand tied with wire.
When the blade wears out I just replace it from parts ordered from Barlows.
