Just trying to learn a little more about swimbaits. What is your favorite swimbait and how do you fish it? Please give as much info as possible, i.e. brand, size, color, technique, line, etc. I'll start . . . *Favorite swimbait: Mattlures 5" Soft Bluegill in the male bluegill color *I fish it with a slow retrieve and twitch in and around grass and submerged timber *50 lb suffix braid with a 17 lb BPS flouro leader *This bait has a top hook, but every fish i've caught with it was hooked with the treble i attached to the belly.

I use the Yum! Money minnows. I use Falcon 4/0 weighted swimbait hooks. I fish them lots of different ways, just like a spinnerbait.

For real swimbaits, I like just about any 3:16 bait, MS Slamers and the Mattlures Hardgills. For the finesse swimbaits, I like the 6" Basstrix, but they are expensive and tear easy, so I keep some Bass Magic's too.

Xcite Baits have a good selection. They have the hollow bodies in 5" and 3 1/2" called the Sexy Minnow and a 3.75" in line swim bait called the Shudder Shad.
