Another slow evening for me on Ray Hubbard. Is ray Hubbard always so crowded with ski boats and jet fleas. Somebody in a red and white deck boat was slamming the hybrids with fresh shad. Artificial was slow. Tried slabbing swim baits and even humdingers. I was marking fish but very few takers. Whats your opinion

I was catchin shad over by the miller rd ramp and some idiot wakeboarders in a sea doo boat kept buzzin by me 20 yards away from my jon boat. I think I yelled every word I knew and started throwing a slab at those F****** IDIOTS. Good way to knock someone out of a boat.

Two things that struck me wrong. Me and one other boat were fishing an area off of I30 yesterday. I was already fishing the area when this gentleman drove up and threw out a bouy. I wasn't upset about that at all. We were actually having some friendly conversation. But this pontoon drives up just abit later, with his big motor on, and asked the guy if he was catching anything. bang

Next, two idiots come through the area trolling a hellbender. At one point he came within 10-15 yds of my boat. I just looked at him with a "What the hell are you thinking?" look. So then not five minutes later, the knucklehead trolls not 3 yards away from the other guys bouy! bang I told the guy who put the bouy out he should pull his bouy but he didn't seemed to care so I told myself I shouldn't worry about it.

But as for the fishing, we hammered them up till Wednesday. Friday and today was horrible. Marked fish but weren't very thick at all.

I just got back in myslef. Was out from 6:00 to 9:30 this evening. Wind was out of the south, so I checked RP and found them stacked up as expected. Chartruse Humdingers and slabs did not produce much except for a few dinks. Tried varying presentation but no luck.

RH is getting worse and worse for boat traffic. Today was pretty heavy and about 95% of the boats were non-fishermen. While I was trying to get them to bite mostly unsuccessfully, about every 5 minutes or less, a powerboat would come through at high speed less than 100 yards from me. Out at RP I was getting tossed around constantly from the wakes. So that might explain the lack of takers even though I was finding the schools. Pretty much normal fro RH.

Maybe that's why there were so few other fishermen out this evening; they knew it would be fruitless with all the boat traffic.

I still had an absolute blast just being out there in what was pretty much a perfect evening weather-wise.

You can not fish Ray Hubbard starting after Memorial day on a Saturday afternoon unless it has been raining. Way to many pleasure boaters untill the end of summer.

eeks barf bolt

Wind changed from north to south, so the fishing will be off for a few days. Be patient with the fish and the pleasure boaters/jet skiiers/potlickers, as well as at the ramps. Lots of folks who don't use their boats but once or twice a year, that are loading and unloading and don't really know how. But most of all, keep your eyes on the water and watch out for those boaters who aren't watching where they are going. It's the same drill every summer folks, so just be careful and show a little patience.

theres never a shortage of idiots (and that term i use loosely) on hubbard on the weekends
you could make a funnist videos just watching one of the lanuch ramp on saturdays ..
it's a shame,i've been putting up with all this for 30 years each year it gets worse.. We all should send a complaint to the tpw/dpd and game wardens..i know they have alot of lakes to cover but maybe they could shift there coverage to a differant lake every week or so BEFORE someone gets run over or drowns
thye could hand out some boating info/Citations......
I'm really tired(SOME) of the jerk skiers/weekend warriors/clowns that don't know the rules or the first thing about lake curtesy and how far they are suppose to stay away from other stopped boats
and that they are responible for there huge wakes even in the middle of the lake......

ok now i feel better just needed to vent.... back to the rat race!!! i guess i can put up with anything because i love to fish, (but i shouldn't have too)......heck the highway drivers aren't much better..JUST MY 02 LOL.. btw thank you to the jet skiers/boaters that do follow the rules and have some curtesy for other boaters/fisherpersons and sailers skiers ect.....

The red and white deck boat was out there again Sunday evening killing the hybrids. Again using the 5-6" shad, and i mean the real 6". Nice guys asked how they were keeping the shad alive, said live well with chemical called shad keeper.
