Been thinking of getting a new boat and have almost decided on a CC.Just seems to be very fishable and my young son seems to think he will be more comfortable in it verses our old Skeeter. He did not like the bass boat at all. We mostly bass and crappie fish. Any opinions?

I fish out of one because my dad will pay for it because he wants to take it to the coast and fish with it. It rides very smoohtly and has a lot of room to fish. If it was my career to bass fish then I would pick a bass boat, but if you just enjoy fishing for fun it is great in rough water and I have onyl been wet once in ours... when we were 18 miles offshore.

i actually fished out of an older skeeter bass boat that had a center console in it, it was great, and yes there is a lot more room for moving around, course it depends on what kind of fishing you are doing and where

I mainly fish N Tex lakes and want something deeper inside than a bass boat so my son feels secure and will look forward to fishing.I also want easy cleanup (no smelly carpet)and a good ride. Any suggestions on brands? Blue wave, Kenner, ect.

Skeeter CC is a nice Boat and has no carpet. My Big Boss had one and he liked it... It was ok to fish out of except make sure you remember that Center Console id right in the middle..

I have ridden in two new Skeeter center consoles and I'm hooked wanting one to take to the coast...One had a fourstroke engine and it was so quite that we could talk in a normal voice on the way out. It sold me on trying to get one. I still am gonna keep my ZX225 though for bass fishing the CC seem to be blown around alot more in the wind here in west texas thus harder to stay on a hole.

I fish out of a 21VX Kenner and I love it. We bass fish 90% of the time and we have no problems. Only thing I will say is that they catch alot of wind and are hard to hold on a windy point or out in open areas but other than that I love it. We have had up to 4 men bass fishing out of it and never had any problems but we all new what we were doing. So nobody went home with any earings if you know what I am talking about. fish

I love my Sailfish. Nice dry ride, liner hull -- not a rolled hull like a lot of the others.

It's a plus and minus. I have a Triton 22 LTS and overall am very pleased. It's very nice on windy days when you're riding, but the high sides catch more wind and make control on the TM difficult. I got it because of my multi species appraoch and I also fish the coast and intend to take it offshore. I have caught bass, crappie, whites and catfish with ease. overall, I do prefer it to a bass boat for versatility.

If you don't fish in the wind they are great, if you fish in the wind they suck! And with that being said it seemes everytime I went fishing the wind would blow. They catch way to much wind and you better have four sets of batteries on your trolling motor. I have owned both bass boats and center consoles more than once and I always end up going back to the bass boat. Goodluck either are better than no boat at all and it just depends on your needs.

Our Century is great for fishing in the wind and it doesn't get blown around in the wind as easy as most cc's but the big house boatrollers do get he moving quite a bit. I have fished out of a lot of bass boats and although most cc's do, our boat does not blow as easy as many of the bass boats.

I have an 18'6 Cajun (not made anymore) 93 model and have had bass boats Seeter, and ranger, also pleasure boats. None have served me as well as the CC. Bass boats are great if you fish alone and only for bass. Put more than one one a bass boat and it is crowded. I can fish for any speices and with a 64lb. trolling motor 24v. I can fish all day maybe two never had it run down the batts. And lots of times if I am by myself i cruise around with the TM only just because i like standing there up front and just checking things out. But if your going to wear an arm out all day to catch 5 fish then a bass boat is probabaly better for you. Just hope the wife and any kids you might have don't want to go fishing with you. I know two can fish from a bass boat but as have done it so many times it is crowded and one does not get to fish the same as the other also. JMO CC rules

You should be fine, but are you looking at a bay boat or deep V center console?

If I where looking, I'd consider this Mako:

http://www.mako-boats.com/boat/?boat=3122

It has both the front and rear platforms, and it what I coastal fisherman consider a bay boat.

JUST A THOUGHT........... YOU FISH OFF OF A BASS BOAT A BUT NORMALLY OUT OF A CC. OLD GUYS DON'T PREFER THE LOW SEATING WHEN DRIVING. I HAVE OWNED 15-18 BOATS IN LAST 40 YEARS AND THE ONLY THING I NEED IS A HANDICAP RAMP FOR THE FRONT DECK. I HAVE A 18.5 CAJUN/150 JOHNSON. VERY COMFORTABLE AND PAID FOR.
