Anyone have any good trout fishing locations near Mckinney/Frisco area? And what bait is the best to use? I have 2 boys that have been begging me to take them fishing and while the LMB and SMB are fun, I think starting the boys off on just good trout fishing would be best and the most fun for them.
Any info you can provide would be fantastic! Thank you much

The Frisco Commons Pond and the McKinney Towne Lake were stocked with trout back in February, but with the water being this warm and all the fishing that has occurred since then I doubt there are any left. The TPWD stocks the city ponds each winter to introduce youngsters to fishing and most of the fish are gone by the middle of March. They stock 250,000 fish or so per year in the city ponds.
The Canyon Trailrace near Austin holds trout year round and the Mountain Fork river in Oklahoma also holds trout. In the metromess the water is just too warm after the early spring for them to survive.
