My 04-206 does not have a fuse panel. It has breakers that are located on the side of the boat under the drivers console.

An expert will probably come along any minute now, until then - the power cord for your SI unit will have a fuse holder in it, if it doesn't -it needs one. I use a VOM meter to locate switched power & Ground. I have a 2008 203, and + & - is easy to find under the side switch panel with the VOM.

They have lots of knowledgeable Champion guys. I know how I have it done on my 202 but yours could be different. I just found a hot wire off my master switch and another ground wire.

BEHIND THE FUEL TANK????? That's called the "transom" and you can't get back there.

I would recommend running it direct to the battery to cut out electrical interfence from other accessories, this also keeps you from overloading breakers for other circuits. I wired my 797si str8 to the battery and put the fuse right at the connection.

My '99 has extra leads under the console in the wiring harness. They have a yellow tag on them stating what they are intended for.

And I know who "Jeff" is.
