Been trying to take a week for the last couple of months, finally looks like I can take off next week.
In all my years of fishing I have never fished Fork. Mainly fished down south, Choke, Falcon etc, either lived in Corpus or Houston area.
Plan on fishing Tue, Wed and Thursday. Will be staying at Lake Fork Marina.
Headed to Ft. Worth on Monday to Boris Marine to get my parts for my Trolling motor, it broke on Fayette couple of weeks back.
I am tickled to death to get a few days off and get Mr. Blazer on the water. Get to try out my new Lowrance HD. Prop just out of the Steve's prop shop, I am ready to go.
Now if I can only remember to put my tackle in my boat before I leave.
Thanks, Billy

The boatlanes chip for your Lowrance is WELL worth the money.
There are 3 fiberglass repair shops around the lake for good reason.

thanks for reminding me about the boat lanes. I am an open lake kinda of guy for the most part, need all the help I can get. Looks like I can download and not have to order. Learned the boat lanes on Toledo back in my tournament days, but havent really fished a boat lane lake in a while.
Thanks, Billy

i would suggest getting a guide the first day and then try to copy his pattern on some different spots the following two days.
if you arent in a boat lane, stay off plane.

The first time on Fork is something you will remember for ever. It is such an amazing lake. You will be overwhelmed. My advice, just put the boat in, head to the first cove, out of the wind if it is windy, and start fishing. Top water should be coming on, so hit it hard from 5pm on.
Good luck and welcome to the best bass lake in the U.S.

Thanks for the advice guys, really appreciate it. I down loaded boat lanes for lake fork, will install on my Lowrance HD tomorrow.
Also in my plans, is to find the deepest part of the lake and accedently drop my blackberry in the water, I get tired of hearing that thing going off like a popcorm popper all day.
Get to try my new Swimbait rod out. Get to fish in the mornings all by myself, other half and the wennie dog will be sleeping in. Now the afternoon fishing will be different, I'll have the better half and wennie dog to deal with, along with trying to get the backlash out of a Zebco 33. Trust me, Sheri can backlash a Zebco 33, but she is good looking and can cook.
Thanks, Billy

Maybe you'll get lucky and not have phone service out there. Not many do unless your on the main lake, but theres your built in excuse to turn it off - no reception!!!! Just remember out there - what appears to be open water is not - lots of stumps underwater and in some coves some idiot went in and cut the stumps water level when the lake was down and now those are huge underwater prop/hull eaters!!!! Have fun - it will spoil the heck out of you out there!!!
