It's days like memorial day that make me agree with everyone taking the boater's education course.. or just those that don't buy bass boats!

Hey Kingwood Cat,

Just a suggestion but you could have just run the bilge pump after putting the plug in. That is if you have one. Heck one time I launched at Grapevine at 4:00 in the morning to get sahd for Texoma and forgot the plug. I just said what the hay and turned the bilge on. Went about my business getting shad and just let her drain once back on trailer.

I was out in a small lake here in Austin just to kill some time. I decided I would avoid to many of the idiots and get off the water by around noon 30. When I got back to the one ramp at this lake I was amazed by all the stupid things I was seeing. Kids swimming from the courtesy docks, poeple fishing from the courtesy docks, people just standing around all over the docks and ramp. Jet Fleas and Skiers in the no wake zone. I was certain someone was gonna get killed out there. I was triny to pull in to a slip at a courtesy dock and alomst hit a no english speaking kid. I yelled at him for being dumb and swimming in a boat lane. He popped up in the middle of the slip while it was trying to pull in.

If I fished for money.........I'd be broke.

In a world of compromise.....Some don't.

I think it was McCown but not sure. Is it the park just south of the Katy bridge? I saw a jet flea in the little cove there on the south side do a 90 deg turn right into the side of a 18' tri hull at full speed. The rider fortunately cleared the bow of the boat. He was very lucky but lots of damage to boat. Boat owner was not happy.

Went to Nasworthy and couldn't lauch at the first ramp because it was blocked by parked cars and families were set up on lawn chairs fishing and swimming off the courtesy docks.

Went to she second ramp and had to do some pretty tricky manuvering becuase a lady in a dodge durango was parked on the ramp. I told her that she was blocking the ramp and she just smiled and kept talking on her cell.

joe pool memorial day....went to work but ended up having the the day off so got out there around 11:30am...lynn creek marina was not a circus to my surprise! didnt have to wait to launch...backed down, unhooked from the bow, jumped in boat and docked right by the ramp...less than a min....as i was getting in my truck to go park, two 4 door cars pulled up and parked to the side of the ramp (my right)and started unloading food, drinks, floaties,etc...i thought nothing of it and went and parked....as i make my way back down to my boat i notice a shat tone of people on the dock...9 to be exact...all holding 2-3 things that they unloaded...2 jet fleas and my boat (20' triton) are the only vessels at the dock....i walk onto the dock and say excuse me so i could get by to my boat...as i stepped onto the front deck, who i guess was the dad said "excuse me homie, they got it blocked off over there at the park (lynn creek park) and said they be outa parkin over there. can my whole family fit in that big nice boat so you can give us a lift over to that other side"...hes talking about the camping/swimming area to the left of the ramp but you can only get to it by driving over there or by boat...i said "are you f'ng kiddin me?" he said"naw man for real"...i said"no i cant do that"...he said"i see how it is...got that nice big boat for your self...white people i swear ya'll all the same,i know i know we black folks and it scares you"...man i lost it right there...i said "yep cause your black you guessed it and matter of fact let me call my "black" friend that im about to scoop up from the state park ramp and tell him i cant take him now cause he's black!"...he looked surprised after i said that...i said "bet you feel real stupid now huh...matter of fact bet you been feeling and doing stupid sh^t all day today, like coming and parking at the boat ramp blocking the turn around area and asking someone to take your whole f'ng family across to the other bank like im the dam lake taxi service"...pushed my boat off and right behind me about 20 yrds was the game warden...i said "ask them for a ride, one of the wardens is black, your chances are looking better"...they asked if there was a problem and i said "no sir just got mistaken for the jp lake taxi service since my boat is yellow"...they both cracked a smile i headed to cedar hill state park to pick up my "black" friend to put him on some white bass...told him what happened and we laughed about it till dark...

All fish are caught and released...some in the water and some in the grease.

i think in a case like that one should pull up ready to launch lay on the horn and start backing up. didn't sound like there was anything on the BOAT RAMP that would do harm to your boat or trailer

I woulda been tempted to break out the compressed air can horn from my boat and just completely empty it at her window. If I can't use the ramp coz you're too busy talking, I'll fix the talking part for ya.

On saturday afternoon at the Johnson Unit boat ramp on Ray Roberts we were coming back in from a nice day of fishing and this lady had her minivan blocking one of the ramps. (there was plenty of parking available). Her and her ninety children were all hanging out on lawn chairs having some sort of picnic. Then this guy (husband?) pulls into the courtesy dock in a 14 jon with a 15 hp outboard.. all ninety kids try to pile into the boat.. he tells them that some will have to wait.. loads up 3 and takes off.. wait they did... on the courtesy dock while we were trying to get out of the boat.... some people..lol

I didn't see the usual husband yelling at the wife when she is trying to back up the truck this year, that is alway annoying. I did see the kids swimming in the boat dock area. People parking at the ramps or near by with no boat getting in the way.

However I missed the hot girl at the ramp having trouble getting her jet ski unloaded while every guy in site went to help her. Happened last year and found it funny, for some reason none of the guys were mad at her, and for some reason neither was I.
