Headed down there this weekend.. havent seen one out there before.. I've noticed the majority of people saying they see them in little caney.. is there a specific cove or branch any live that maybe a guy could get lucky and snap a picture of?

The small cove behind the island in Little Caney usually around the old bridge. The island is across from Quail Hollow Marina.

Ive seen about 6 this year already, and with the weeds like theyre getting, they will sun themselves on the top.

You want to see a few gators go to Choke Canyon.... there are few there in the 16+ foot size..........

I saw a HUGE one swimming across the mouth of sun eagle bay during the legend t..looked like it had to be at least 12 ft.It was friggin mammoth.

16' come on, thats a little overboard on size. i live on the TX/LA border and have seen on lots of water from bayous to lakes to rivers to swamps. and the biggest ive ever seen is around 12' MAYBE 13'. 16' sounds pretty far fetched.

Just make the drive to Sabine lake area down on the coast and I'll show you where you can snap pics of 10-12 footers layin all over each other. You can get a shot of 8-10 in a frame! Then you can hook an 18" on a Pop-R.

They are just big ol prehistoric lizards with a thimble sized brain.

Been around them most of my life, trapped em, ate em, and wade fished with em ... I ain't never seen or heard of a 16 footer (well, I've READ about them in encyclopedias.). 12-13 foot is a BIG gator.

Yes, Little Caney is the place - big one was hanging around the point by the golf course last weekend - 10+ we were thinking. Old railroad trellis across from Hideaway is a good spot too. Over by Steamboat Shores theres a few living around the docks - 2-3 foot. Lake Fork is full of them!!! Perfect time right now with mating season and females nesting.

There used to be one in Birch in the cove on the left before you went under the bridge.

I live 5 minutes from sabine lake and have fished it my whole life, where are you located? And yes there are tons of HUGE gators in that area. Taylors bayou being one of those areas that in my opinion has some of the biggest. also blacks bayou in LA.

I live just SW of Woodville (4 miles west of Lake Ivanhoe). I have lived in Port Neches though for 25 years off and on up until 1996. I've fished Big Hill, Taylors, McFaddin Marsh (Willow Slough on the back of Sabine Ranch ... 8,000 acres of fresh water marsh and reservoir), I fished Sabine Refuge and Calcasieu Lake out of Cameron. I also have fished a lot of the Neches River ... even for bass by launching at Pt.N Park.

16' is not an exaggeration. I was there earlier this year and I don't think I saw one less than 12' There snoot is at least 4' long. They are everywhere on Choke. They get to eat good, there are deer and turkey all along the banks.

I was all the way up in Birch a few weeks ago. Their is a cove on the far right. I saw probably a 6 footer. It wasnt even scared of my boat. Good luck!
