Anybody have any good experience with sweet beaver hooks. The bodies are so soft and tear so easy. I have tried just normal EWG hooks and that didn't work. I also tried owner hooks with bait holders on them. Helped out a little bit but nothing spectacular. Reaction baits make a sleeve that go on the shank but i can't find them anywhere. I am also thinking about trying some plastic glue but have heard mixed things about it. Also looking for hooks for smallie beavers. Thanks
Derek

Reaction Innovatins makes the best hook for the Sweet Beaver the BMF flippin hook. I use a 3/0 or 4/0 for the 4.20 and a 5/0 for the Double Wide beavers. Occasionally I will use a lil super glue usually when flippin matted grass.

I use a 4/0 EWG on the LFT flipper (beaver bait) and haven't had any problems.

I second the BMF hook and barbs!

I've been using the Mustad Soft Impact hooks with good results.

Go to Lowes/Home Depot and get heat shrink tubing if you want the RI Barbs. Its easy to do and much cheaper.

I can't find those hooks anywhere. The bait shop said that Reaction Innovations lost the guy that wielded the eyes so he is not making the hooks until he can find a new company. Also that is why you don't find any of those sleeves that go on the shanks.

I like the Gamakatsu G-lock hooks for Beavers. Holds the bait on really well and doesn't tear it up as bad. They are great for most soft plastics. Hope this helps.
