I'm not sure if this is the proper section though...

Would anyone be intrested in spending a Saturday at Marine Creek. No fishing, just cleaning the place up. Picking up trash and maybe even picking a cove to plant some aquadic vegetation. I'm going to call the Tarrant Water District to see what all they do and what they would be willing to assist us with. I love fishing this lake due to the fact that I live 5 minutes away. I want to a nice clean pretty lake that I can take my daughter to and fish off the bank without haveing to worry about seeing needles or broken beer bottles everywhere. She loves to fish but we can only fish so many comunity ponds before she's bored and wants to hit a LAKE. If I get enough responders I will then set up the day to do it. I know its gonna be getting warm soon but July should be enough in the future for us to clear or keep clear out calenders.

I'm also thinking the if the lake looks "pretty" maybe it would help keep the riff-raff away.

please respond.

Right now if things go as planned, July 11th looks good to me, if not, then we could do June 27th.

i didn't really get many responders to this idea. just one. and even though its a small lake. two people is not enough to get that place clean. it wouldn't even make a dent. lets shoot for a saturday or even a sunday in july. id like to have at least 15 people.

Thanks for what you are trying to do. Good luck, July is going to be tough.

Glad to see you being proactive and take interest in a project like this. Finding volunteers is always a challenge. Try to locate a local club who would be interested in Participating. Our Federation Nation clubs get points for such a project which they need to qualify for the state championship. You can find a list of our clubs at www.texas-bass.com
I would gladly give them points for such a project.
Doing a native plant project is one of the best things you can do to improve fishing, but it is necessary to work with TPWD on this and the lake's controlling authority. A permit would need to be issued. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

I would be willing to help if I have no work. I am a freelance cameraman and I work when there is work and that always come 1st. Having said that, I, and I am sure others would be more favorable to the project as long as the controlling authority would increase there security patrols, FIX THE RAMPS AND PARKING, and start issuing tickets for people who will keep a 6" LMB. The last time I went out there, I saw 2 guys fishing from the bank keeping fish smaller than the lure I was using. I said something to them as I passed about size restictions and they rattled off a bunch of spanish at me that didn't sound like they were thanking me for reminding me. Then there was that middle finger thing which I know means something. Having said that, I would love to have a little day lake like that one available whenever you have a few hours to sneak off.
