 Caught some fish this evening in E. Texas

We're visiting with the inlaws, and I fished with my son Joshua this evening. I started with a red/white popper and caught 2 bass around 2# each. Then I put my rod down, and encouraged my son to fish. Being 7, he doesnt have that much patience, so I had to make sure the fish were hitting before I really encouraged him to try. I put a silver Heddon Lucky13 on his rod, and he fished it real well, got a nice smash, and landed this nice bass on it, his personal best "all-by-himself" largemouth. Here's the pic:  He said his arm was tired after the fight, so I started fishing again with my fly rod, and put on a white pencil popper, and hooked into a nice fish, around 4#. I let Joshua play it some, so it was a "teamwork" fish  Heres the pic:

Thata great I still remember fishing with my dad when I was Joshes age. Nice fish too.
 It's more than the catfish would do.

I got up this morning and fished Lake Hawkins.
Tried poppers at first, and nothing. Then tried a wiggling foam diver, and caught a huge bluegill on it, about 10inches. That was on a 1/0 hook!
Later on tried a black and blue rattle back, and caught 2 bass on it, a 1.5, and a 2#. That was it. It was pretty slow, and headed in around 10 AM.
A rattle back is what I call a bendback tied with one of Dennis' craw-clicker rattles that he gave me. Its got the rattle with some blue pipecleaner wrapped around it, as the body, and a black long bucktail wing, tied on a 2/0 worm hook, bendback style. It did pretty good not getting hung up on stuff.
