How do ya'll suggest doing this for striper? I mean, I figure you've got to at least catch two dozen. How do ya'll catch them in the masses for bait purposes?

Either A) perch trap or B) ultralite with worms
It will take about 15-30 minutes with an ultralite and about the same with a perch trap

Check item B use the ultralite and worms it is still catching fish and it is a challenge to hook the little fish.

Use a very, very small hook! You need only a very small piece of worm.

yep item b....but u may want to bring at least one more person to speed up the process, once they smell ur bait hard enough for the bobber to move, yank it so they don't swallow the dern hook....then you would have dead striper bait.
I don't really know what to type here.

I would strongly suggest checking the regulations regarding the use of a perch trap in fresh water ...

flyrod with a small wet fly will get 'em... they're pretty hearty so they keep well in a bait tank.

theres plenty of bream around launch docks, and as it gets hotter (july/august) look in the boat slip they gang up in the shady parts of slips near the surface.. traps are not always depenable they also attract snakes ... i try to get them the day before on rod-n-reel .... they keep in the livewell pretty good (i hook a 110v air pump up when i get home) then your ready to go when you get there or just try the top water fishing early and take break midday and catch bait then drift till the pm top water hopfuly starts ... small hook and red wigglers for sure..

ultralight with either canned corn or salmon eggs on SMALL hook. much easier to bait up. Creme used to make a very small 1-2" artificial worm which worked great also. fly rods with artificials are more fun.

I used to take a 10' crappie pole from academy (8 dollars) and tie a 10 foot leader then tie 4 or 5 hooks with TINY hooks and a little bit of worm and catch'em pretty good. If you use a perch trap....the little ones will eat all the bait before you trap perfect sized ones...been there done that

I run down to the creek behind my subdivision with an ultralight rigged with a tiny hook and a bite-on weight, a baggie with a handful of frozen corn kernals and my bucket. I put a kernal of corn on the tiny hook and I catch 'em quick like that.

Ok, so found a place that I could catch a lot of goggle eyes, or green sunfish, the night before. Will they work for striper too? Also, since I'm pretty new to striper fishing, I don't know if this is considered a sin or not, but can you use goldfish for bait?
