I would not say that. Its not the best time of year to be yankin out 30 pound stringers. 200 boats could not catch an over from Fork during Basschamps? Could you have said the same in March?

I fished it yesterday and part of today with a friend that was in his boat. Fishing was real tuff. I spoke to another angler and he said the same thing.
I thought it was just me....

I remember about 3 years ago seeing people cutting up 8, 9 and 10 lb bass at the cleaning stations - some guys from the panhandle hauled out 3 ice chests full of black bass and we're bragging about all the 6 - 8 lbers they had caught and cut up. Wait until 2011 or 2012 and all you'll be hearing again is Lake Amisted.

Who said anything about 30 lb stringers ? How about just a 20 lb stringer ............. there was only 2 of those caught in 2 days. Can't really explain that one away.

The fish are still there. There is more pressure now than in years past and the water is way up. Plus its post spawn. Its hard to catch them sometimes when they have access to 50-80 ft of water.

50-80 foot of water has always been there, yet you used to could catch big ones. It's not like they just blew holes in the bottom of the lake 3 months ago.

Just to poke a little fun question here it was explained to me that not all fish spawn at the same time so how can the postspawn affect every fish at the same time?

Wish I would have read something like this before I spent the weekend down there catching dink fish. Would have went some where else.
I figured there may be less pressure on the lakes way out there instead of the central Texas lakes. Wrong. If you didn't get to the ramp early you weren't finding a place to park.

But years ago, the fish didn't have to subject themselves to 50' of water. There was literally no pressure on them. I first went to Amistad 20 years ago and you could catch BIG fish anywhere, shallow (20 feet or less). You cannot do that anymore. They have been beat up, not only by tournaments, but by meateaters. I don't care that the lake is up, normally fish follow the water up, THERE IS JUST TOO MUCH PRESSURE.
