I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good begginer rod and reel set up for trout? I was also looking to not spend a lot of money.
thanks

Where will you be using this tackle and for what kind of trout? That might seem silly, but there could be a significant difference in the gear depending on whether you were chasing native brookies or lake trout.

I would love to catch a huge Lake trout on the fly.
It's more than the catfish would do.

get a TFO 3 or 4 wt, around 129 bucks, you can spend less but it'll suck compared to these

I have a Dogwood Canyon rod, with a Hobbs Creek reel by BPS, and they are a good starter combo I believe if you don't have much money to spend.

gander mtn has some great low budget rods(50 bucks-60 bucks)that are durable and good enough to catch a 7lb bass and a 29lb catfish
