Do not over look a chance to fish Ray Roberts with Dannie Golden. He takes advantage of the best from Lowrance and Hummingbird SI, and will taylor a trip to exactly what you want to do. There is some great structure at Roberts to fish, oh, and get some sleep, you will get your line stretched.

Ben Matsubu (T-Bend and Rayburn), James Caldemeyer, John Tanner (Fork), and Robert Amaya (Falcon) are all awesome deep water structure fishermen. These guys all have a great reputation for teaching their clients techniques they can apply later on to their own fishing situations.

ironsight,
The first question that needs to be addressed before you start choosing a guide is what brand of electronics do you use?
Thanks,
Kurt

Jason Hoffman on Lake Fork is an awesome choice for a guide! He showed me a wealth of knowledge about reading graphs. We actually pulled up on a spot and he showed me a fish and exactly where to drop my bait. The bait never touched bottom!!

Pretty much all of the guides on Fork are good at fishing deep water. If you not, you really aren't much of a guide in the summer.

James Caldemeyer will teach you more in a day than you can remember. I have my 4th deep water trip booked with him on July 17th to learn even more.
-Deep Jigs
-C-rig
-Talon Big Dandy Spoons
are his specialty!

James is on Amistad right now but will be back Sunday. Call and talk to him. He will teach you anything you want.

Good luck!
KP

I booked with James just because of the rep he has for deep water fishing. That's something I have to lear. As of now, I pretty much only fish shallows. When I made the decision to do this, James Caldemeyer was the name that jumped out. Going out with him in a week and a half.

For get Fork. Best lake are Amistad, Choke Canyon, & Falcon
for big fish. No matter what lake you go to there are ledges in all. Lowrance LCR 480 and above or Hummingbird 997 or higher you can read the details.

Rick Loomis on Fork fishes deep from midmay through January, and is a great instructor with Lowrance electronics.
