Looking at buying a boat and needed some insight from the experts out there!

2 boats......02 Blazer 210 single console w/225 merc or 99 Triton TR21 DC w/ 225 Evinrude Ficht. Both are CLEAN with gps and all the good stuff, but i am by far no expert. One thing good is the Triton is well below Nada value. Dont know too much about the Fichts so any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks

Take my advice and go with the Blazer with the Merc When something goes wrong with the Ficht it will cost you a pretty penny believe me I work on both of these engines. Example: one ficht injector 900.00 . They are good running motors when they are right but when there not look out....OPTI

I agree with OPTI because of the motor. If the Triton had a merc on it I would probably go with the Triton.

Ditto on both hull and motor.

FICHT is an uncurable cancer.

There are two types of FICHTS, ones that have blown up and ones that are about to blow up! I have a 1999 Triton TR-21 with Mercury 225 EFI listed in Boats4Sale...Give me a call.

It's amazing how people bad mouth these ficht motors, there the first hpdi motors and which Yamaha basically copied! I have a 225 FICHT ram injected, it runs flawless and it will blow any Yamaha or merc off the water loaded or not!!!!!

The blazer with the 225 would be a good boat and fairly fast too should be a high 70's boat loaded light with the right prop plus will be more fuel efficient crusing at 55 and 4500 rpms.

people bad mouth ficht motors for a reason, they are lousy merchandise. when you go to trade it in most dealers bid it like it doesnt have a motor.

Run from The ficht when they run they run verywell but parts are becoming not availible and so is support I am dealing with one right now that I was sent a update for.the ecm and I was sent a 3.5 floppy disc that has to be run in dos and tech support told me sorry you need to find a old computer to run it so I can't do the update. And parts (that you can still get) are VERY expencive

That's why that boat is way under book value

...stay away from the FITCH engines! There are two types. Ones that still run, and those that are parts motors sitting in the back of the shop! Have seen three come in over the last two weeks. If one blows the ECM you can't just slap a new one on. You have to download the data from the fried one and load it into the replacement or the injectors won't work.

...so good it tastes like it died screaming!
