There's a lot of great fishing out in Oregon depending on where you are. They have bass, catfish, trout, steelhead, salmon & a whole coast to surf fish. Also have stripers that roam the ocean & spawn in rivers around Coos Bay in Southern Oregon. You should be able to find plenty of fishing opportunities there.

Of course you will have to learn all over again how & where to fish the same as I'm having to do after moving here from Seattle Washington. But, that's part of the fun.

The diversity of fishing in Oregon is tremendous! You will absolutely love it. From outstanding crappie in the southeast to alpine trout in the Cascades, to salmon and steelhead runs... you will be in Heaven! Then, of course, there is the saltwater stuff... WOW!!! I bet a buncha people here would love to see your pictures once you get a feel for things up there.

My understanding is the warmwater lakes are more in the eastern part of the state, whereas the Columbia has great smallmouth fishing.
Also, like you said, sturgeon, stripers, and more.
