Fished Grapevine the last two days and... nothing. Hit Meadowmere the Island and the bubbles with not a single bite. The birds weren't working either so it made finding them a little difficult. Had a blast just being on the water but would love to catch more next time out. I was throwing little Georges and slabs in chartreuse and blue/silver, rattle traps, and magic shads. Nothing.
Is anybody else having an luck on the Vine?

prater,
We didn't have our usual luck on Grapevine yesterday...we only caught 5 out in 30' of water NE of the island. We were using Shad type crank baits running 8-12' deep. Friday night was real good though and was reeling them in.
I hope to get out there later this week. Hopefully, it will pick up. We are pretty new to this and learning from the experts.

You might try out at the rockcrusher area. I haven't fished the vine lately but would think thay're starting to move back out to the deeper structure. Also there are a few humps/ledges S of the island you might try.

Not too good lately either out there. The last couple of times I only caught a few each time out. Went to eagle mtn. today and did really good. Boated over fifty and left with forty two sandies and eight cats. Good luck next time!

Last time I was there was last Friday in the wind...no birds at Meadowmere and only a few hitting the top. We just started casting Rooster Tails and caught about 30 in the morning in a short time but when they stopped that was it...it was over.

Sounds like you were not holding your lip right. I know guys that have been doing fairly well on Grapevine right now. But that lake is like that though.

I went out Tuesday and Wednesday evening and didn't have a bite. Yesterday I started by the island, then went across to the north shore. I saw a guy catching a bunch a small ones with a slap. He was fishing straight down so he must of been on a hump. Me and two other boats fished in the general area and didn't catch anything. I then went up to the rock crusher and headed back the south shore by Meadowmere. After checking the island once more I tried the bubbles. Two evenings and no bites. Not a bird in site.
On a seperate note I tried to lunch at Meadowmere to avoid the crowd at Katie's Woods. On Tuesday I waited a good 10 minutes to lunch at Katie's Woods. At Meadowmere I couldn't even get off the trailer. I had my 4Runner backed up so far that I was blowing bubbles with my exhaust pipe. So if you launch there I would make sure you have lots of ground clearance.

My kids caught a bunch of sandies last Sunday afternoon, from about 2:30 till 3:45, left them biting. They were in 30-35 ft of water, between the island and the north shore. Fish were solid on the depth finder from 25 ft to the bottom but since my kids are only 9 and 6, I had them throwing Lil Fishies on a jighead, so they were only fishing the top 5 ft of the water column. No big ones up near the top, but lots of 10"-12" fish. We'll be out Sunday morning to see what we can find.

Will be out with the wife tomorrow. Looks like it's going to be a great day. Jeff...I'll be out there tomorrow as well with my wife Kelly. We will most likely try to chase a few green fish at daybreak then look for sandies if that's not happening... I will be in an older Skeeter kind of brownish color on top...

I had great luck Monday evening at Rock Crusher after going to the island and Murrell(zero) but had multiple doubles at R.C. most 9" to 12" range. I will go back this afternoon to get my fishing out of the way before the Holiday crowds. Meadomeare ramp is just barely usable for my tiny Skeeter. Hope to be there from 5:30 till dark tonight. Will try to report before you hit it Friday. 1.5 oz Dakota slabs and tag-a-longs were the ticket.

I plan on going out there this evening as well. Can someone explain to me where Rockcrusher is? I usually fish the island and down near the dam. Thanks for the help

Rock Crusher is past Twin Coves about in the middle of the lake, maybe a little on the northern side. Marked by a floating marker buoy.
Numerous humps all around.
