First time poster in the Saltwater Forum...

Just wondering if it was worth bringing my kayak with me on a trip we have planned late June to Matagorda. Coming from the FTW Metroplex... We plan on chartering a boat for one day, but thought it might be fun to have the kayak there as well.
I am normally a fresh water river guy and have not yet taken the yak out in salt water. Seems like it would be awesome to hook a big red in my little boat.
Any thoughts?

You can bring your yak. There are a lot of good places to yakfish. I wouldn't try to use it on the bay but the back lakes would be great. Personally I wouldn't make a very good motor.
If you need a Matagorda guide send me a PM and I will send you a phone number to a good guide that will work hard to put you on quality fish and his price is reasonable.
