We released a DVD a few months ago on how to use the top 10 bass lures from as chosen by a netowrk of pros and I'm trying to optimize the information content for our next video. What content would you find most useful in a DVD format? Also, do you know of anyone out there who publishes reviews on fishing DVDs?

Supported by underwater video to show how fish relate to cover and structure during different periods

It's available at www.profishingresearch.com. The website also provides seasonal information each ranked lure.

How about a video on using sonar to locate deep structure and how to catch deep water fish.

DVDs and TV shows are fun to watch, but often they don't teach much more than can be learned by reading a magazine article. To be really worthwhile, a good fishing video should show information (e.g., underwater videos, casting techniques, etc.) that can't be shown on the printed paged. Otherwise, apart from the entertainment value, what's the point?

I've always wanted to see how a pro pre-fishes for an event. I want to see every move he makes and have him explain in detail why he's making a move. Why did he decide to fish that area, etc. Think ESPN's "Day On The Lake" but more intricate. I'd even like to see the pre-pre-fish stuff like picking areas on maps, gathering information, etc.

If I were making the DVD, I would include a printout with the video of the map of the lake, each move the pro made on each day, as well as vital quotes as to the hows and whys. That way you have the visual medium as well as a print version you can look at for reference.

I think following a pro for 3 or 4 days of prefishing would be an eye-opening experience. We could see how much time they spend in a certain area, how they dissect the lake, etc. In the meantime, you could incorporate other elements (like reading maps, sonar, etc.) into the video because obviously, the pro will be using all of those techniques to locate fish during his practice session.
