I have only fished topwaters on Falcon for short periods but I have caught a few. The last Bass Champs tournament had a big fish weighed in that reportedly was caught on a Zara Spook. Give it a try and good luck.

I fish Falcon a lot and have never know it to be a very good topwater lake. It looks like it would be good, especially with buzzbaits and ribbits, but the fish on Falcon just dont seem to like to feed on top for some reason.

I fish Falcon about once a month for the past 2 yrs, and I have only seen about 2 topwater fish the whole time. Both were caught with a Buzzbait, it was a hot late summer morning and they were both about 3 lbs!

Like mentioned above, there is no harm in giving it a try, but I wouldnt stick with it very long if you dont get quick results. Most falcon fish are caught flippin/pitchin, jigging, c-rig, and cranking. Ocassionally, traps and spinnerbaits will work too!

I had my best top water day ever last November there. My theory is a bass is a bass and if in the right mood will smack topwaters regardless of what lake they're in. I was at Government Cove fishing a Spro inside a bushline -- what a blast. All the fish were chunks over 4 lbs.

Bass will ABSOLUTELY crush a Horny toad on that lake... and a swimbait reeled just under the surface. We've caught them on buzzbaits and spooks as well. It seems best in the middle of the summer, although the temps can get overbearing at times, the fishing makes it worth it.

I took 5th on Falcon this past week-end in our club tournament. Saturday had a great day in 2nd with 16.81..all got on buzzbait except one. Sun weather change, wind, wrong bait, etc...call it what you want, but I fell apart. 1 fish for 2.02.
The only fish I caught Sunday was on the buzzbait. I put it down because of the weather and fished other things. Did not catch another fish. What a mistake.............Oh well, had a great time.

I've had one or two Falcon trips where the topwater bite was on, but it hasn't been a dominant pattern for me. I will fish a topwater at Falcon just because I enjoy it, but if I were fishing a tournament I think I'd stick to flipping, c-rig on points, big cranks on points and maybe a magnum fluke.

Try the Rapala SW8 in Fluorescent Shad, has a great rattle, fantastic to walk the dog and they will eat the paint off of it.

Our club had a tourney there this past weekend and some guys killed them on spooks. My partner threw a topwater for a while with no takers.

My BS that was cleaned off I don't believe was BS. Maybe it's the term you use.
