 My New Personal Best From Choke Canyon.....

I caught this Beauty on Choke Canyon this past Thursday afternoon about 6:45pm, Caught on a Stanley Wedge spinnerbait White/Chartreuse/Red Flake, In about 5 foot of water in Grass. She was 24 1/2 inches long and 16 inches in girth. Our Scale said 9lbs even. I have been tryin for 10 lbs and was a little dissapointed but still a Great Fish and a Day I wont soon forget.

Alton- Only reason I say I was dissapointed was we didnt have a scale in the boat so it was about two hours before we weighed her and the whole time my partner was saying that he was sure she was just over ten, so I was all hyped up and then we got the scales she was 9.0lb.....

I know how you feel had the 9pound monkey on my back until this year keep fishing big fish lakes and it will happen. nice fish anyways.

great fish, I can relate also! Have had several fish that I swore went over ten, but one was 8.94 and then 9.2. Finally, last year got one in the boat that went 10.2. It will come, just keep fishing!

C'mon,my man...dsiappointed in a 9?I saw your explanation,but still ya gotta love that one.I swore I had a 10 once...got her in the boat and she went 5-15...lol.Keep chunkin and windin on Choke and it'll happen.Heck I just wish I could fish a big fish lake like that instead of sittin at home watchin KVD.

hey man...I dont know what kinda scales you were using but I have the Berkley digital scales and caught a 10.04 at the Skeeter tourney that went 9.50 on my scales...so it could be a ten pounder!! It was just a hair over 24 inches too....Either way, nice fish!
