There is no good rod cause C-rig suck and are for the weak...
Sorry I jusy had too. I do hate dragging those darn things. It's like watching paint dry... lol i tend to agree, but it does work sometimes

I use a 7' Allpro extra heavy. Very sensitive and light weight.

I started with a 7ft rod and have switched to a 7-6 which I like better. Get it either in m/h or h action depending on the brand of rod you choose.

I would rather drag a rig than anything else. From the depths come the big'ins.

What about a reel for C-rigging? Can you use a low-profile baitcast reel, or is it better to use a round baitcast reel?

What about a reel for C-rigging? Can you use a low-profile baitcast reel, or is it better to use a round baitcast reel? A low profile baitcaster works just fine but you need to choose one that holds a lot of line since you are going to make long casts. I use two different ones, a Shimano Curado 100 BSV and a Garcia Revo.

low profile works fine but you want high speed.. at least 6:3 or better.
rod... depends on budget just like anything else.
Im a st. croix fan.. for 150$ range go with 7' avid med hvy 100$ range I like the St. croix premiere... if you have big bucks go with the legend or legend elite split grip 7+.
rod reviewer in bassmaster says the new shimanos are pretty good as well for value and you cant go wrong with falcons either.
