I really wish that trip and the officals would give a report with documented witnesses. I am about tired of these pointless threads of all of the fishermen on here and every other site judging someone they don't even know. These threads are just as bad as "who makes the best boat" people who like Duckett say it Langhill fault and viseversa. Can we start a fishing thread in the Bass Fishing Section?

I dont know either one of them, i can only tell you what TV has made them out to be, which if you watch the shows, they are all superman and 10 foot tall.
Plus i can only go by what the aticles say, But i will without a doubt not make a judgement call on either one of them. Thats thier thing not mine, im not a professional, heck im not even a wanna be professional, i fish for the fun of it, im certainly not gonna point fingers. I would love to hear the Marshall's point of view and put this carp to rest, why even throw fuel on the fire..

Why? For doing the right thing, especially when he did what he was supposedto, didn't make an idiotic scene causing the police to be called? What would you have done, invited him to come on over and fish the very same small area that you had been fishing since day one? Boyd is class, professional, just plain good at what he does. Look how well he did after he was finally able to get back to the lake and fish.

Solution: Quit getting on this site and start another of your own. Make a rule that nobody can discuss anybody or anything without having the pictures, witness statements, etc. NO OPINIONS ALLOWED. Would that work?

How does a company justify sponsoring Kevin after this?
Good luck

Yeah I agree that the article is very biased to take it for what it's worth. Just thought it was interesting what this guy said. I still think from the accounts Langhill was probably at fault but I also wouldn't be surprised if Duckett did do what was said and Trip didn't side more with him than Langhill. Langhill could have approached it differently though.

We can read these opinions all day and never get to the bottom of this. The honor is in the dollar in today's world, which leads me to believe Boyd and BASS are probably not as innocent as they portray themselves. However, looking forward, I see this as a major problem w/BASS and their MARSHALLS! What are they there for?? Why were they not questioned? I would like to see an interview with each of those people whom actually witnessed the whole thing...because they were in the boat(s)!

So everybody on this site but the Bassking believs Boyd's side of the story... That's interesting... I really don't give a [censored] but... It's hard for me to believe that a pro like Boyd wouldn't flex his muscle and BASS would be gutless enough to just cut a young kids throat... It's done out in the real world everyday, what makes bass fishing any different??? And please, don't give us the great man to kids, dogs, and grandmas speech, I'm tired of that [censored] also... Big money is what it's about....
Just my opinion....

The truth is in the middle of these accounts. both sides are playing with "words" to slant the view of others. Just as some have pointed out, the story has changed a bit on Boyd's side, and some details on the Langhill's side don't add up. Days 1 and 2 are where the questions are. day 3 was just stupid by Langhill. I've been in the boat with some elite pros, and I can see how the type A personality would be trying to intimidate their competitors of lessor stature for rights to a fishing spot.

Langhill could have approached it differently though. I think BASS is playing damage control, because this issue shows what many of us believe has been happening for a long time. There is obvious bias going on with the whole 'my water' garbage. I feel sorry for the new guys coming up in this sport. Sure it's the same stuff alot of us weekend guys have to put up with. But.....it's different when your livelihood is on the line. When your dream is right there to reach out and get and keeps getting yanked away from you. I also think this is where ESPN is wrong about it's viewers. Most of us are Bass fisherman that watch the tournaments on television. We aren't tuning in to see the big name pro win, we are tuning in to see who figured out the best patterns and had the best tournament. The whole ratings 'boosting' garbage is damaging the programming IMO. I think he over-reacted and clearly was in the wrong on the 3rd day. No doubts about that at all. I DO understand HOW he could be driven to act out that way though.

From what I just read, Boyd filed the protest without giving his side of the story and asked that the TD get with the marshalls to find out what happened. Sounds like both of the marshalls that were on thier boats agreed with Boyds protest.
Lengill is toast, no matter what he says.

Langill's Marshalls agreed with him, not Duckett.

Wow, most sports dont just ban someone for the year. Nascar would have about 4 cars left if they did that. I remember when Jimmy Spenser gave ole kurt bush a black eye on pit road a few years ago and both were back out the next weekend racing. NFL you can get a DWI and get caught doing drugs and still play as long as you dont pay to see a dog fight. Point is that it sure seems wild to have a disagreement on the water or where ever and then get banned. Now if he slapped him with a treble hook and tired to drown him then that would be different.
The dude was wrong but still seems harsh.
