OK you have ALL of your gear,rods,boat,electronics.EVERYTHING. KVD has all of his stuff but ONLY one rod and a zebco spincast reel. One day tourney on a lake that neither one of you has fished before. COULD YOU BEAT KVD? I believe I could am i crazy? maybe. would it make me better than him? NOOOOOOOO not by any means. But i think i could win.

I'm pretty sure he still has the same talent with less gear.

I'm also pretty sure he could beat almost all of use with a Barbie Poll.

I would like to say anyone could beat him on one of his off days but damn he is just too good. Maybe if he only had a Zebco.

Its not the equipment that makes KVD special its what is beyween his ears. I'm sure more than a few guys would beat him here and there but at the end of the day the guys having success at that level have a talent level above 99% of the fishing population.
To put in it perspective these guys routinely hit or pass the 20lbs per day mark in those events sometimes bringing in 20lbs four days straight. There are a ton of anglers that have not weighed in four 20lb sacks in a tournament in a lifetime and even a lot that have never had a 20lb sack.

As a good buddy of mine ( Tommy Climer )told me one time before a media Tournament on Hubbard.

If you really think you can beat KVD. You are definately in the wrong career. If you can beat him you are costing yourself alot of money by not fishing for a living. I guess you can probably dunk on Shaq too!!!!!

Can I blindfold him and give him a 4 hour late start and backlash his zebco and put a hole in the canoe that he has no oars to and only let him fish in the middle of a jet ski course.

There are two types of scenario's I think of; is it for fun or are you serious about actually beating KVD. If you are serious about beating KVD then read below. If you are thinking its just for fun and accept the fact you have no chance then stop here.

This is one of the scenarios when you where a kid and your buddy thinks his nutts swelled a little bit and he thinks he can take his dad? You constantly tell him to shut the "f" up and sit his happy "a" down but yet he keeps on taking [censored] until his dad takes him out to the back yard. Then in a blink of an eye, one quick swoop, your buddy is done and out.

Same principal applies to KVD. That would be a tail kicking you felt for weeks.
