I want to get out and do some fishing on Eagle Mountain, in my kayak. Where would be the best place to put in and be able to find some hybrids or white bass within paddling distance? It doesn't have to be a ramp, just access to the water?
Thanks!

There are no hybrids in eagle Mountain. Put in at shady grove park and paddle out around the islands. Been catching a lot in that area. Johnny

Thanks sandjohny! I have never been to the lake but always heard good things. Now that I have a way to get out on the water I wanted to check it out!
I don't have a fish finder yet - what would you recomend trolling to find them? Would a hell pet rig be as good as any to find them, and then I assume yall use slabs or jigs?

I see some people trolling for them and some people casting. I like to cast. I like a B8900 Bomberslab Spoon- Metachrome and Little George 1/4oz- White/Black.

I like casting alot better, but but since I don't have electronics yet and don't know where any humps are, I figure I could have some lines out while paddling. Once I catch one and know some are in the area I could cast or jig them up.
Thanks for the feedback Pro 17!

There are no hybrids in eagle Mountain. Mr johnny, why is the record hybrid for EM larger than one from Bridgeport?

Hey Kerry was that you out by the dam at Benbrook yesterday? I was in the yellow kayak - I think I saw that boat in your signature out there?

That hybrid was an escapee from Bridgeport, it was caught in a Fort Worth Anglers Club 3-string tournament. When they let water out of Bridgeport, occationally, some will escape .

They catch one every 4 or 5 years but I don't think it is something you would fish for . I have been fishing EM over 45 years and I caught 1 . Johnny

We have caught a few of the hybrids that have come from Bridgeport. You dont see too many of them but they are there.
