I thought about hitting Benbrook tomorrow and wonder if anyone had any reports on the bite. Last week they were still shallow. Thanks for any input.

i caught around 15 or so sunday all about 9 inches and a couple two pound bass on white roadrunners. Going to try again in the morning from bank.

I went out on Saturday and my brother and we did pretty well. We caught all our fish 12ft deep in 16ft of water. Saw alot of guys in the back of Richardson Slough. Decided to go back there and caught about 15 keepers. All together we caught roughtly 40 unders and 26 overs. Biggest going 15 inches about 1 1/2 lbs. That was between 12noon and 5pm. Wiggins, I thought I saw you cruising around there. Hope this helps. Will post pics soon

Thanks for the report. Those are some nice crappie. Unfortunately plans have change due to a blown head gasket on truck just today and won't make it after all. Oh well, another day I guess.

Here's a report for you. Went out there last Saturday evening fishing from the dock. Went inside the little indoor fishing spot to check out the action there and a gentleman from the bank starts yelling," Hey they're stealing your fish. They're taking your fish basket!" Me and a friend look out and sure enough this guy and girl had pulled our fish basket out of the water and was heading out with it. We took off running after them and they dropped it on the dock and we got our fish back.
They were in a white, 90's model Chevy pick up.

For real? What barge or dock was this? I guess you gotta start pad locking baskets now.

You exerted your fine effort in catching the fish and they obviously believed they were entitled to your fish minus the effort?
There is a bit of political innuendo here but I can't quite put my finger on it.

i'm guessing it's rocky creek marina & barge. you should have asked around there to see if anyone knew those people. lots of people fish from the bank over there. be sure to let the owners/staff know about that episode, so they can keep an eye out for a white truck..

ill bet it was rocky creek. i like fishin there but have run across some rude and dishonest folks round there although i also will run across a preacher who i love sittin and talkin with. its nice when a crappie fisherman can go to new places and meet new people who actually have some character

Yes, i believe it was Rocky Creek. Isn't that the barge by The Store? I've been back out there, but haven't seen that truck. I tell everyone I know that fishes there or is thinking sbout fishing there so they can be aware. The sad thing is, if the people would have asked me, I probably would have given them the fish.
