One incident gets shown on national tv (soap opera) from Falcon and nothing is done. No DQ, no unsportsman like. Shown over and over again showing unsportsman like actions to the whole world. This one the marshalls all explained it was no big deal (in Langills boat). According to one marshall Trip didn't want to hear anymore testimony. What gives ? They playing favorites again ? Too bad a camera boat wasn't around to document the whole thing. I agree with Mark. Somewhere in the middle.

I am not saying he was right or wrong. His problem was the way he handled the situation he let his emotions take over instead of his good sense. Once the TD ruled it was over if he wanted to do some thing @ that point he should have filed a protest & been done with it.

Very true. If he felt he did nothing wrong, he should have filed a protest himself the very moment he found out he had one against him. Then if need be let his attorney do the talking. That's what they get paid for. Emotions got him, even though I don't blame him for being upset if he truly was in the right. Agree CDavid.

My real beef is that Ducket filed a protest in day one. Then Langhill went back the next day. Then he got DQed, then he goes back and made a real punk of himself.

That shows someone that has lost complete control of himself. Basically taking all his argument and throwing it out the window. Be like being pulled over for speeding when you do not believe you were. You dont fight the cop. You take it up with the judge.

Yes, but just because Duckett files a protest does not mean that Duckett was in the right. This is how a big name pro could throw his weight around and intimidate Langhill into not going back to that spot, even though Langhill had perfect right to the spot.

And the big names will throw their weight around cause they know they can get away with it, they have more credibility.

Langhill obviously feels very strongly that he was wronged and he's not going down quietly.

I would hope not, Ronnie. Jerry Jones might take him, though...LOL!

He's out.

(Editor's note: A BASS communications official notified BassFan at 1:30 p.m. ET today that Kevin Langill has been suspended for the remainder of the 2009 Bassmaster Elite Series season due to events that took place on Saturday that are detailed in the story below. If he so chooses, he's eligible to fish the Bassmaster Opens in an attempt to re-qualify for the 2010 Elite Series.)

Langill pulled in between the two of them and started fishing. Very por sportsmanship, at the very least.

It is funny how two people who saw the incident saw things differently. Here is another eyewitness account off of Bassfan. this one makes it sound like Langill did nothing wrong.

Jason Borden of Union Grove, AL writes:
I think it's a crying shame that Langill was DQd. I observed them fishing from my own rig both days and didn't see anything that would call for that ruling. If you DQ one of them then it should be both. I hope Langill takes BASS, ESPN or whoever for whatever he can. BASS will never get another penny of my money as I've lost all respect for the organization. I feel that BASS handled the situation very poorly and with a biased decision favoring Duckett, for whom I have also lost respect for.

Yep, and I think there may be two different takes on the story.
Looks like BASS believed Duckett.

Had to happen. Not because of the protest, but because of the way Langill handled himself afterward. Sad.

and i am sure the "jason borden" fellow knows all the little unwritten "ethics" between the fellow PROFESSIONAL anglers about unwritten rules to honor/respect another anglers territory....

an amatuer observer from far away has no idea what just took place..... someone pisst on a fire hydrant that already had piss on it!
