i have a lowrance 522 and put the transducer on the back of the boat so i could get water temp. it always gets bumped up. my question is, is ther any way to get temp going through the hull.

You can get the temp going through the hull but it is not a true water temperature reading since it is not actually in the water.

I think you have 2 options that will give you the temp while shooting thru the hull...a Lowrance TS-1BL will give you a temp sensor that you can use with the skimmer transducer epoxied to the hull or Lowrance recommended to me using a LOWRANCE PDRT-WBL SHOOT THRU HULL WITH REMOTE TEMP. 200K

Shoot through the hull with the transducer and get an aux. temp probe and attach it to the back of the transom or jackplate. Problem solved.
